Above is the Strength card from Tarot of Trees. Yesterday I drew this online at the Annikin Divination site, after a tree hugging morning in the area. I’ve had my eyes on this deck for a while, since I love trees and enjoy the painting style of the deck.
I think Stength is very apt considering the sheer size of the tree I was introduced to – grand, majestic, imposing and solid.
I climbed a little way up but didn’t get too far – the Fig tree has smooth bark and with the recent downpours (finally, rain) it was a bit slippery. So I just lied down on a branch, and looked at the vines and leaves and sky and low clouds and rising mists. And I felt small and supported and cared for all at the same time, in the small speck of eternity growing from its roots to sky.
Many blessings,
Monica

So…not to sound stupid (or maybe to sound stupid)…does this tree produce ACTUAL FIGS?
If so: awesome. If not: that’s OK–it’s still a super cool tree.

He he – that’s actually an excellent question. Yes, it does. There’s a few different kinds of fig trees that grown in the rainforest, but their figs are eaten by birds and bats usually. The fruits are different to the kitchen fig variety, they are actually a lot smaller usually and more round in shape. I actually haven’t heard of these tropical figs to be eaten by humans though… might do some research on that

That is an amazing tree! I’ve been eyeing the Tarot of Trees, too, but it’ll have to wait.
